This website

This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and loads nothing from any other company — no fonts, no scripts, no trackers. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes standard server request data (such as IP address) to serve and protect the site.

Your recordings and edits

We never receive them. Recordings, edits, narration audio and exported files are stored by the extension in your own browser's storage on your own computer, and are never uploaded to us. There is no cloud rendering and no account holding your work.

While recording a tab, the extension logs the identity and position of elements you click, so it can draw the cursor and draft annotations. It never records field contents, typed characters, or anything inside a password field, and this log stays on your machine with the rest of the take.

AI features (optional)

If you use AI assist or AI narration, the extension sends sampled frames of your recording and the interaction log to the AI provider you have configured, using your own API key, and only when you ask it to. That data goes directly from your browser to that provider and never passes through us. Their privacy policy governs what they do with it. Your API key is stored locally in the extension's own storage and is sent nowhere except the endpoint you name. If you never enter a key, no AI request is ever made.

Buying a licence

Payment is taken by Paddle.com, our reseller and merchant of record. We never see or store your card details. Paddle collects the information the payment and tax rules require — name, email address, billing country and payment details — and acts as data controller for that. See Paddle's own privacy policy for what they do with it.

When your payment completes, Paddle tells our licence service the transaction and your email address. We use it for two things only: to embed it in your licence key (which is what makes the key personal to you and shows in the app), and to email you that key.

The licence service keeps no database. It signs a key, displays it, emails it, and forgets — there is no customer record on our side to breach or to export. Our email provider, Resend, processes your address in order to deliver that one email. The transaction record itself is held by Paddle as the merchant of record.

Using the licence

The extension checks your key offline, against a cryptographic signature, on your own machine. It makes no network request to us at any point — not to activate, not afterwards, and not to check in. We therefore have no record of your installations, your usage or your activity, and cannot produce one.

Support email

If you write to us, we keep the correspondence for as long as needed to deal with it and to keep a record of the sale, and no longer than reasonably necessary.

Your rights

Under UK and EU data protection law you can ask for a copy of your personal data, ask us to correct or erase it, or object to our use of it. Email support@cooleasycut.com and we will respond within one month. In practice the only data we hold is your email address in our support inbox — everything relating to the payment itself is held by Paddle, so requests about billing data should go to them.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or your local supervisory authority.

Children

Cool Easy Cut is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it.
